CGDC MENTEE PROGRAM

This program will create industry connections between CGDC mentors and artists on their path towards becoming a director or choreographer in theatre. Program goals include building networks, developing strategies for career advancement, and expanding knowledge from industry leaders. 

HOW DOES IT WORK?

​To become a CGDC mentee, fill out the application form below. You will need to:​

  • Include 1 reference letter from a professional director and/or choreographer

  • Attach your resume and,

  • Answer these short-form questions:

    • Why do you want to pursue this career?

    • Who’s career do you admire?

    • What do you hope to gain from this program? (150 words each)

CGDC will facilitate up to 20 mentor/mentee connections in each program session. The first 10 applicants to submit will be automatically accepted, and the final 10 spots will be chosen by lottery. If you apply  but are not selected for this session, your application will be rolled over, and you will participate in the following iteration of this program.

*If you have applied to any of CGDC’s programs in the past, please feel free to reuse the reference letters you previously gathered.

DEADLINES & NOTIFICATIONS

April 22, 2024 - Applications open

 

May 6, 2024 - Applications close end of day

 

May 29, 2024 - Successful applicants will be notified

 

June - August 2024 - Mentee Program runs

PROGRAM CRITERIA

  • Professional experience in the industry a plus

  • Credits in the relevant area you are pursuing a plus

  • Strong conflict resolution skills

  • Strong collaborative and teamwork skills

  • Willingness to listen and learn
